Outside The Box Education provides services for children with additional educational needs, their families and carers across Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula.

All sessions are planned with a termly theme by a Special Educational Needs Teacher. Learning objectives are aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.

Our respite care provides opportunities for children to access varied exciting activities around the local community, gain new experiences, keep up to date with their local clubs or even learn new skills. This is based around your childs support plan and goals outlined on their NDIA plan, and parent or child requests.

Respite care within your own home can be provided upon request.

Weekend and School Holiday Programs

We offer individual or group based activities over the weekends and school holiday period. We ensure we cater for differing needs and interests therefore children will be grouped accordingly.
The main aim is to enjoy the school holidays, get together to meet new friends, practice our social skills, gain independence, laugh lots and have some great days out!

Individual supports are tailored around parent or child request or aligned with goals set within your childs NDIA plan.

Educational Consultations

Available upon request.

Termly Educational Classes

Saturdays at Leopold Child and Family Centre Community Hub

It was developed by a special educational needs teacher with a huge amount of passion for removing barriers, empowering everyone to succeed in all aspects of their life.

‘Just so sociable’

‘Just so sociable’
is accessible for all ages. Throughout the year we will focus on:

  • Social interaction. E.g. turn taking, greetings, conversations etc.
  • Communication skills
  • Emotions- our own emotions and others… and much more.

This is a fun session and is mainly delivered through structured play and games.
(We can also provide social stories outside of sessions to further learning.)

‘Letter Love’

This is a fun session based around alphabet and sound work with a sensory and tactile approach.

This is available to preschool children as a school readiness programme and children up to age 8. Children will be grouped accordingly.

‘Mucky Pups’

This is a Toddler sensory, which requires parent/gardian mum OR dad AND bub to participate. This is a relaxed, fun session focusing on socialising, messy play and sensory activities for the little ones.

*ALL of our sessions are primarily for children with additional educational needs but inclusive for all, so even our toddler sensory class will be very structured, use visuals and be tailored to any other specific needs within the group. We are able to use any visuals or schedules you currently use at home or in any childcare or educational setting upon request.

*As every child has different needs and abilities, we offer the first session as a free trial. We encourage parents to take this session to ensure the child is happy and that we can assess your child so they are suited to the correct session.
